Pet Rescue Alliance Volunteer Opportunities

Since its founding in 2011, Pet Rescue Alliance has rescued thousands of dogs. Saving these lives is only possible with a dedicated network of volunteers. PRA volunteers perform a variety of tasks and are critical to our success. We could not do what we do without our amazing volunteers!

You can become a PRA volunteer by completing our Volunteer Application. After you fill it out, one of our volunteer coordinators will follow up with you. Please note PRA requires volunteers to be over 18 years of age.

PRA has several volunteer positions available, which will allow you to participate in a meaningful way with the flexibility to join as your schedule allows.

Foster Coordinator – Work with the Foster Manager to screen new fosters, help assign fosters to dogs. Provide support to fosters by answering questions and concerns, gathers information from fosters to include in website profiles.

Adoption Coordinator –– Help us save more animals by screening adoption applications or assisting our Adoption Team Lead by doing vet and rental reference checks! We need your help to match adopters with their new furry friends. Adoption Coordinators screen adopters and finalize adoptions with the Team Lead and PRA Director.

Foster Transportation – Drive animals from foster homes to medical appointments or to transfer to new foster homes. Pick up and drop off supplies or medicine to fosters.

Fundraising – Help us raise the needed funds to keep going! Consider an office donation drive; accept donations instead of gifts for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries; create an online giving page; set up a giving page on Facebook; and more! Ask us about all the different ways you can help raise needed funds to help save dogs! If you shop on Amazon Smile, select Pet Rescue Alliance as your charity. Share PRA’s donation link.

Transport Lead – Works with the PRA Director to organize the transport of dogs from Texas to the DMV. Liaisons with the local rescues in Texas and the transport company. Works with Transport Coordinator to manage transport arrival team in coordination with Foster and Adoption Team Leads.

Transport Coordinator – Works with Transport Lead to organize transport arrival. Works in coordination with Foster and Adoption Team Leads to ensure all dogs have a placement upon arrival.

Medical Coordinator – Works with Medical Team Lead to track medical files for each dog. Schedules vet appointments and fields questions from the foster team about any potential medical issues that may arise.

Website Volunteers – Assist in updating content on the PRA website. Gathers information on the dogs to create profiles for each. Do you know someone with web design experience who would be willing to donate their time to updating PRA’s website? Contact petrescuealliancevolunteer@gmail.com.

Fostering – This is one of the most needed volunteer positions at PRA. Fosters provide a temporary home for a rescued animal until an adoptive family is secured. Our fosters are each supported by an assigned foster coordinator to answer any questions along the way. For more information about PRA’s foster program, please read the Foster FAQ. If you’re interested in fostering, please fill out the Foster Application.

Other – If you have an idea for volunteering, share it with us! We love new ideas. Contact petrescuealliancevolunteer@gmail.com.
